Our Families

We spent 7 days in northern Thailand.  3 of those we were on a trek in the mountains outside Chiang Mai.  It was strenuous, but well worth the effort.  We had steep, long hikes, rode on elephants, stayed with 2 different tribes and did some rafting.  We don't have pics of the rafting - we didn't want to risk our equipment.  But we do have a couple pages here that will give a good idea on the other aspects of the trek.

We rode these elephants into the jungle the first day.

These elephants carried us up very steep terrain - we just had to hang on and hope for the best!

Our guide's name was Epoh. He was hilarious, very kind, a great cook and was full of info.

After the elephants, we hiked for hours through jungle.

At dusk we left the jungle and had to get to the other side of the mountain to the first village.
